Introduction

We congratulate you on the purchase of your

new product. You have chosen a high quality

product. The instructions for use are part of the

product. They contain important information con-

cerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the

product, please familiarise yourself with all of the

safety information and instructions for use. Only

use the product as described and for the speciﬁed

applications. If you pass the product on to anyone

else, please ensure that you also pass on all the

documentation with it.

Intended use

The product is intended as an outdoor accent light.

The product is not intended for commercial use or

for use in other applications.

Not suitable for ordinary lighting in

household room illumination.

This product is suitable for extreme tempera-

ture up to -21°C.

The solar module built into this product converts

sunlight into electricity and stores it in the recharge-

able battery 11 . The product switches on at dusk.

The LED is a very long-life and energy-saving light

source.

The light duration depends on the amount of

sunlight, the angle at which light hits the solar

module 5, and the temperature (the rechargea-

ble battery capacity varies by temperature). A

vertical angle of light at temperatures above the

freezing point is ideal.

The rechargeable battery 11 does not achieve

maximum capacity until after several charge and

discharge cycles.

Keep rechargeable batteries away from chil-

dren. Do not leave the rechargeable batteries

lying around. There is a danger that these will

be swallowed by children or pets. If they are

accidentally swallowed seek immediate medi-

cal attention.

Children or persons lacking knowledge or ex-

perience in handling the product or have lim-

ited physical, sensory or mental abilities, must

not use the product without supervision or in-

struction by a person responsible for their

safety. Children must be supervised at all

times to prevent them from playing with the

product.

Never leave children unsupervised with the

packaging material. The packaging material

poses a suﬀocation hazard. Children frequently

underestimate the dangers. Please always

keep the product out of the reach of children.

This product is not a toy and should be kept

out of the reach of children. Children are not

aware of the dangers associated with handling

electrical products.

Do not use the product if you detect any type

of damage.

The LED is not replaceable.

If the LED fails at the end of its life, the entire

product must be replaced.

Make sure the solar module 5 is free of dirt

and free of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise

the performance of the solar module 5 will

be diminished.

Cold temperatures negatively impact the

rechargeable battery operating time. Clean

and store the product in a dry, warm location

during extended periods of non-use, e.g. in

winter.

lems with the product, please contact an elec-

trician. The LED cannot be replaced.

Avoid extreme environmental conditions and

If batteries / rechargeable batteries have

leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and

mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush

immediately the aﬀected areas with fresh

water and seek medical attention!

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES!

Leaked or damaged batteries /

rechargeable batteries can cause

burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable

protective gloves at all times if such an event

occurs.

In the event of a leakage of batteries /

rechargeable batteries, immediately remove

them from the product to prevent damage.

Only use the same type of batteries /

rechargeable batteries. Do not mix used and

new batteries / rechargeable batteries.

Initial use

Mounting the product

Remove the individual parts from the packag-

ing and assemble the product as shown in

Figure A. There are two options: the spacer

tube 3 will make the product approx. 42 cm

(on IAN 295713); approx. 34 cm

(on IAN 295691); approx. 51 cm (on IAN

295689) tall (see Fig. B), the spacer tube 2

will make it approx. 29 cm (on IAN 295713);

approx. 24 cm (on IAN 295691); approx.

34 cm (on IAN 295689) tall (see Fig. C).

Insert the selected spacer tube 2 or 3 into

the designated opening on the solar module

(see Fig. A).

Installing the product

Note: The product can be installed without a

power source.

Only use the product with the included

ground spike 1.

Push the assembled product far enough into

the ground (lawn, ﬂower bed) so it is stable.

Since the product relies on sunlight, consider

and

observe the following points prior to instal-

lat

ion.

1. Select a location where the solar module 5

is exposed to direct sunlight during the day.

2. Position the product so the solar module 5 is

not covered or in the shade (trees, roof ridge,

etc.).

3. Be sure the solar module 5 is not impacted

by another light source, e.g. yard or street

lighting, as this will prevent the product from

switching on at dusk. Remember many light

sources will only switch on due to the time or

movement during the night.

Preparing the product

prior to initial use

Note: The product features a twilight sensor and

an On / Oﬀ switch 6. When fully charged the

product on time is approx. 6 to 8 hours.

Unscrew the sphere 4 from the solar module

5 counter-clockwise. Set the On / Oﬀ switch

6 to the ON position before using it for the

ﬁrst time.

Screw the sphere 4 clockwise all the way

into the solar module 5 and place the prod-

uct in the sun.

to the ON posi

tion.

The product will automatically switch on at

dusk. At dawn the product will automatically

switch oﬀ.

Slide the On / Oﬀ switch 6 to the OFF posi-

tion. The product is permanently switched oﬀ.

Replacing the

rechargeable battery

Note: The rechargeable battery 11 is designed

for prolonged operation. However, it may need to

be replaced after being used for a long time. Re-

chargeable batteries are subject to natural wear

and the output may decrease. For optimal perfor-

mance the batteries should be replaced every

12 months.

Replace the rechargeable battery as shown in

ﬁgures D–F.

Unscrew the sphere 4 counter-clockwise.

Slide the On / Oﬀ switch 6 on the solar

module 5 to the OFF position.

Remove the solar module 5 from the spacer

tube 2 or 3.

Loosen the two screws 7 on the underside

counter-clockwise using a suitable cross-tip

screwdriver and remove the housing 8 from

the remainder of the module (see Fig. D).

Then also loosen the three screws 9 on the

underside of the cover counter-clockwise us-

ing a suitable cross-tip screwdriver and remove

the cover 10 from the remainder of the module

(see Fig. E).

Remove the rechargeable battery 11 and re-

place with a new, charged rechargeable bat-

tery of the same type (see „Technical data“).

Please note the polarity (+ / -) when inserting

the rechargeable battery (see Fig. F).

Now reattach the cover 10 to the solar cell 12 .

Make sure the cover 10 is in correct position

(see Fig. F). Secure clockwise using the three

screws 9.

Then reattach the housing 8 and secure

clockwise using the two screws 7.

Reattach the solar module 5 to the spacer

tube 2 or 3.

Slide the On / Oﬀ switch 6 to the ON position

again.

Screw the sphere 4 all the way into the solar

module 5, turning clockwise.

Troubleshooting

Note: The product contains sensitive electronic

components. Radio transmitting equipment in the

immediate vicinity may therefore cause interference.

CB radios, radio / other remote controls and micro-

waves. If you notice the product is malfunctioning,

remove any sources of interference from the area

around the product.

Notice: Electrostatic discharge can lead to mal-

functions. In the event of such malfunctions, brieﬂy

remove and reinsert the rechargeable batteries.

Note: The performance of the rechargeable

battery is better in summer than in winter due to

the weather.

Regularly clean the product with a dry, lint-

free cloth. Use a slightly moist cloth to remove

any stubborn dirt.

Replace the rechargeable batteries if the op-

erating time decreases noticeably after some

time despite good sun exposure (see chapter

“Replacing the rechargeable battery“). Only

use the correct size and recommended type

of rechargeable batteries (see section „Tech-

nical data“).

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable

materials, which you may dispose of at local

recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging

materials for waste separation, which

are marked with abbreviations (a) and

numbers (b) with following meaning:

1–7: plastics / 20–22: paper and ﬁbre-

board / 80–98: composite materials.

The product and packaging materials

are recyclable, dispose of it separately

for better waste treatment. The Triman

logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal

authority for more details of how to

dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please

dispose of the product properly when it

has reached the end of its useful life

and not in the household waste. Infor-

mation on collection points and their

opening hours can be obtained from

your local authority.

Faulty or used batteries / rechargeable batteries

must be recycled in accordance with Directive

2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return

the batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or the

product to the available collection points.

Environmental damage

through incorrect disposal of

the batteries / rechargeable

batteries!

Batteries / rechargeable batteries may not be dis-

posed of with the usual domestic waste. They may

contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to haz-

ardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The

chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows:

Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is

why you should dispose of used batteries / re-

chargeable batteries at a local collection point.

The product has been manufactured to strict qual-

ity guidelines and meticulously examined before

delivery. In the event of product defects you have

legal rights against the retailer of this product.

Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our

warranty detailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the

date of purchase. Should this product show any

fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years

from the

of purchase, we will repair or replace it

choice – free of charge to you.

The warranty period begins on the date of pur-

chase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a

safe location. This document is required as your

proof of purchase. This warranty becomes void if

LED on erittäin pitkäikäinen ja energiaa säästävä

valonlähde.

Valaistuksen kesto on riippuvainen auringonsätei-

lystä, valon tulokulmasta aurinkomoduuliin 5 ja

lämpötilasta (akun kapasiteettiin vaikuttaa lämpö-

tila). Parasta olisi valon pystysuora tulokulma läm-

pötilan ollessa jäätymispisteen yläpuolella.

Akku 11 saavuttaa vasta useamman lataus- ja

purkausjakson jälkeen suurimman mahdollisen

kapasiteettinsa.

Paristoja / akkuja

koskevat turvallisuuohjeet

HENGENVAARA! Pidä paristot / akut las-

ten ulottumattomissa. Pariston / akun nielais-

seen henkilön on välittömästi otettava yhteyttä

lääkäriin!

RÄJÄHDYSVAARA! Älä kos-

kaan lataa paristoja, jotka eivät

ole uudelleenladattavia. Älä oiko-

sulje paristoja / akkuja äläkä avaa niitä. Siitä

voi seurata ylikuumeneminen, tulipalo tai

räjähdys.

Älä koskaan heitä paristoja / akkuja tuleen tai

veteen.

Älä altista paristoja / akkuja mekaaniselle

kuormitukselle.

Paristojen / akkujen vuotamisesta

johtuva vaara

Vältä äärimmäisiä olosuhteita ja lämpötiloja,

jotka voivat vaikuttaa paristoihin / akkuihin

esim. lämpöpatterit tai suora auringonvalo.

Jos paristot / akut ovat vuotaneet, vältä

kemikaalien kosketusta ihoon, silmiin ja lima-

kalvoihin! Huuhtele altistuneet kohdat

välittömästi pelkällä vedellä ja ota yhteyttä

lääkäriin!

KÄYTÄ SUOJAKÄSINEITÄ!

Vuotaneet tai vaurioituneet paris-

tot / akut voivat syövyttää ihoa.

Käytä siksi ehdottomasti aina sopivia suojakä-

sineitä.

Jos paristot / akut vuotavat, poista ne välittö-

mästi tuotteesta, jotta tuote ei vaurioidu.

Käytä vain samantyyppisiä paristoja / akkuja.

Älä käytä vanhoja ja uusia paristoja / akkuja

yhdessä!

Poista paristot / akut tuotteesta, jos sitä ei

käytetä pitkään aikaan.

Tuotteen vaurioitumisvaara

Käytä ainoastaan ohjeessa mainittua

paristo- / akkutyyppiä!

Aseta paristot / akut tuotteen sisään paris-

toon / akkuun ja tuotteeseen merkittyjen

napojen (+) ja (-) mukaan.

Puhdista pariston / akun ja paristolokeron

kontaktipinnat ennen sisäänasettamista!

Poista loppuunkäytetyt paristot / akut välittö-

mästi tuotteesta.

Käyttöönotto

Tuotteen asennus

Ota yksittäiset osat pakkauksesta ja asenna

tuote kuvan A osoittamalla tavalla. Voit valita

kahdesta eri vaihtoehdosta: jos käytät väliput-

kea 3 tuotteen korkeus on silloin n. 42 cm

(IAN 295713); n. 34 cm (IAN 295691);

n. 51 cm (IAN 295689) (kuva B), jos käytät

väliputkea 2 korkeus on silloin n. 29 cm

(IAN 295713); n. 24 cm (IAN 295691);

n. 34 cm (IAN 295689) (kuva C).

Aseta valitsemasi väliputki 2 tai 3 aurinko-

paneelissa 5 olevaan aukkoon (kuva A).

Aseta sitten maapiikki 1 väliputken 2 tai 3

alaosaan (kuva A).

Tuotteen sijoittaminen

Huomautus: tuotteen paikka voidaan valita

virtalähteestä riippumatta.

Käytä tuotetta vain toimitukseen sisältyvällä

maapiikillä 1.

Pistä asennettu tuote niin syvälle maahan

(nurmikkoon tai kukkapenkkiin), että se seisoo

tukevasti paikallaan. Koska tuote tarvitsee

aurinkoenergiaa toimiakseen, ota huomioon

seuraavat kohdat ennen sen sijoittamista:

1. Valitse sellainen paikka, jossa aurinko paistaa

päiväsaikaan suoraan aurinkopaneeliin 5.

2. Sijoita tuote niin, että aurinkopaneeli 5 ei

ole minkään peitossa tai varjossa (esim. puu

tai katonharja).

3. Varmista, että aurinkopaneeliin 5 ei pääse

vaikuttamaan mikään muu valonlähde kuten

esim. piha- tai katuvalaistus, koska siinä ta-

pauksessa valo ei syty tuotteeseen päivän hä-

märtyessä. Huomioi, että useat valonlähteet

kytkeytyvät päälle vasta keskellä yötä ajasta

ja liikkeestä riippuen.

Tuotteen valmistelu

ennen käyttöä

Huomautus: tuote on varustettu hämäräantu-

rilla ja virtakytkimellä 6. Valaisuaika on n. 6–8

tuntia täyteenladatulla akulla.

Kierrä pallovarjostinta 4 vastapäivään aurin-

kopaneelista 5. Ennen käyttöönottoa aseta

virtakytkin 6 ON-asentoon.

Kierrä pallovarjostin 4 aurinkopaneeliin 5

myötäpäivään vasteeseen asti ja aseta tuote

aurinkoon.
