Montageanleitung
Zusätzlich zur Montageanleitung gibt es die ausführli-
chen Betriebsanleitungen für die Lichtgitter MLG, ELG
und XLG. Die Betriebsanleitungen umfassen alle Infor-
mationen wie z.B. Montage, Elektrischen Anschluss,
Einstellungen und Technische Daten. Sie können die

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die Lichtgitter MLG, ELG und XLG erreichen in das
Schutzrohr IPG 67 eingebaut, die Schutzart IPG 67.
Das Schutzrohr dient dazu das Lichtgitter vor Staub
und Strahlwasser zu schützen.

1. Schutzfolie vom Schutzrohr entfernen.
2. Schutzrohr reinigen. Beachten Sie die Hinweise
im Abschnitt „Reinigung“.
3. Nutenstein in Abstandshalter stecken.
4. Abstandshalter mit Nutenstein in die Nut des
Lichtgitters einschieben.

5. Abstandshalter über Gewindestift montieren. Be-
achten Sie, dass die Abstandshalter gleichmäßig
über das Lichtgitter verteilt sind.
6. Flachringe auf beiden Seiten des Lichtgitters
montieren.
7. Anschlussleitung mit M12-Steckverbinder aufste-
cken. Rändelmutter am Stecker festdrehen.
8. Lichtgitter mit Anschlussleitung vorsichtig in das
Schutzrohr schieben.
9. Lichtgitter durch Drehen einpassen.
10. Endkappe in das Schutzrohr einschrauben.
11. Kabelverschraubung mit Endstück verschrauben.
12. Montagehalter an der Endkappe montieren.
13. Bei Lichtgittern länger als 1000 mm zusätzliche
Montagehalterung in der Mitte des Lichtgitters
montieren.
14. Empndlichkeit einlernen (Teach-in). Für eine be-
triebssichere Funktion muss die Empndlichkeit
entsprechend der vorhandenen Reichweite ein-
gelernt werden. Weitere Informationen siehe ent-
sprechende Betriebsanleitung.

Das Schutzrohr verringert die Betriebsreichweite der

Reinigung
Reinigen Sie das Schutzrohr in regelmäßigen Abstän-
den. Beachten Sie bei der Reinigung folgende Punkte:
••
Kein aggressives Reinigungsmittel verwenden.
••
Keine abriebfördernden Reinigungsmittel verwen-
den.
••
Durch statische Auadung bleiben Staubteilchen
am Schutzrohr hängen. Sie können diesen Ef-
fekt mindern, wenn Sie zur Reinigung den anti-
statischen Kunststoffreiniger (Bestell-Nummer
5600006) und das SICK-Optiktuch (Bestell-Num-
mer 4003353) verwenden.
Gehen Sie bei der Reinigung des Schutzrohres wie
folgt vor:
1. Verschmutzungen auf dem Schutzrohr mit reich-
lich Wasser entfernen. Sie vermeiden so Kratzer
auf der Oberäche.
2. Wasserreste auf Schutzrohr entfernen. Hierzu mit
einem sauberen und leicht feuchten Tuch nach-
wischen.
3. Schutzrohr mit einem sauberen und fusselfreien
Tuch trocknen.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie unbrauchbare oder irreparable Geräte
immer gemäß den jeweils gültigen länderspezischen
Abfallbeseitigungsvorschriften.

Assembly instruction
In addition to the assembly instructions, there are
detailed operating instructions for the light grids MLG,
ELG and XLG. The operating instructions comprise
all information like assembly, electrical connection,
settings and technical data. You may download the

Intended use
The light grids MLG, ELG and XLG achieve protection
category IPG 67 when installed in the protective pipe
IPG 67. The protective pipe serves to protect the light
grid from dust and jet water.

1. Remove protective lm from the protective pipe.
2. Clean protective pipe. Observe the following notes
in the section "Cleaning".
3. Push slot nut into spacer.
4. Push spacer with slot nut into the slot of the light
grid.

5. Install spacer above treaded pin. Observe that
the spacers are evenly distributed across the light
grid.
6. Install at rings on either side of the light grid.
7. Push on connection line again with M12 plug
connector. Tighten knurled nut at the plug.
8. Push light grid with the connection line into the
protective pipe carefully.
9. Adjust light grid by turning.
10. Screw end cap into the protective pipe.
11. Screw cable screw to end piece.
12. Install assembly holder at the end cap.
13. For light grids that are longer than 1000 mm,
install an additional assembly holder at the
center of a light grid.
14. Teach in sensitivity. Sensitivity must be taught in
according to the present range for safe operation.

Cleaning
Clean the protective pipe at regular intervals. Observe
the following items for cleaning:

Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents.
••
Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents.
••
Static charge causes dust particles to adhere to
the protective pipe. You may reduce this effect by
using antistatic plastic cleaner and the SICK lens
cloth (order number 4003353) for cleaning (order
number 5600006).
Process as follows for cleaning of the protective pipe:
1. Remove contamination on the protective pipe
with sufcient water. This avoids scratches on the
surface.
2. Remove water residue from the protective pipe.
Wipe off with a clean and slightly moist cloth.
3. Dry protective pipe with a clean and lint-free
cloth.
Disposal
Dispose of any useless or irreparable devices
according to the respective applicable country-
specic waste-disposal provisions.
