Safety Instructions
Before you use this device for the first time, please
read the following notes in this manual and heed
all warnings, even if you are familiar with handling
electronic devices. Keep this manual safe for future
reference. If you sell the device or pass it on, it is
essential you hand over this manual also.
Operating Environment
Position the device on a stable, even surface or
hang it from the handle of a piece of furniture using
the hook. Do not place any objects on the device
(e.g. a towel). The device has been designed for
use in environments with a higher humidity (e.g.
bathrooms). It is splash and drop-proofed.
Operating temperature and operating humidity:
5°C to 45°C, max. 90% RH.

Always make sure that:
no direct heat sources (e.g. heating) can affect
the device;
no direct sunlight or artificial light reaches the
device;
the device is never placed in the immediate
vicinity of magnetic fields (e.g. loudspeakers);
no fire sources (e.g. burning candles) are
placed on or near the device;
no foreign bodies are introduced into the
device;
the device should not be subject to any sharp
temperature changes;
the device is not subject to excessive shocks
and vibrations;
Maintenance and Care
Servicing is required when this device has been
damaged in any way, for example, when objects
have entered the product, when the product does
not work normally or if the product has been
dropped. If smoke, unusual noises or smells are
noticed, power off the device immediately. In this
case the device should not be used further and

personnel. Please contact qualified personnel
when repair is needed. Never open the housing of
the device. Only use a clean, dry cloth for cleaning.
Never use any corrosive liquids.
Children
Electrical appliances do not belong in the hands of
children. Do not allow children to use electrical
devices when not under supervision. Children may
not comprehend the presence of potential risks.
Batteries and small parts represent potential
choking hazards. Keep batteries out of reach of
children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical
help immediately. Keep the packaging away from
children too as there is danger of suffocation.
Intended Use
This device is a consumer electronics device. It
has been designed to receive radio broadcasting
stations. This device fulfils all that relates to CE
Conformity, relevant norms and standards. Any
modifications to the equipment other than
recommended changes by the manufacturer may
result in these directives no longer being met. The

If you are not using the device within the Republic
of Germany, you must observe the regulations and

Batteries
Insert the batteries with the correct polarity. Never
try to recharge the batteries and under no
circumstances throw them into fire. Do not mix
batteries (old and new or carbon and alkaline,
etc.). Remove batteries when the device is not to
be used for a long time. Non-intended use may
cause explosion and danger to life.
Respect the environment. Old batteries do not
belong in with domestic waste. They must be
handed in to a collection point for old batteries.

Inserting the Batteries
Please always double-check that the
seal of the battery compartment is
properly seated into the
corresponding slot and has not been
moved or damaged. If the seal
shows any visible damage, the radio
will no longer be fully waterproof and
must not be allowed to come into
contact with water or any other
liquids.
To open the battery compartment, proceed as
follows:
Please make sure that your radio is powered
off. To do this, the volume adjustment knob (2)
must be rotated as far to the left as possible.
Remove the screw from the back of the device.
If the screw is tightened firmly, use a coin to
release it. The screw features a small slot for
this.
Pull the coloured cover downwards and remove
it.

Open the battery compartment by slightly
pulling from the catch (see figure).
The battery compartment is fully contained
within a water-resistant seal. Under certain
circumstances (humidity and sudden
temperature variations) it is possible that the
cover may be difficult to remove.
Insert the batteries. Be sure to respect the
polarity. The polarity is indicated with the
symbols + and – on the batteries and in the
battery compartment on the radio.
Replace the battery compartment cover over
the battery compartment. The two catches on

the battery compartment cover top must fit into
the corresponding slot opening on top of the
battery compartment.
Push the coloured cover over it. The round-
shaped opening of the cover must face to the
back of the radio.
Tighten the screw firmly.
Using the Device
Choosing a Suitable Location
First of all, choose a suitable location for your
bathroom radio. The large, coloured hook on the
top of the product allows you to hang the radio on
a tap, for instance. It is also possible to hang it on
a piece of furniture. However, please note that
delicate furniture surfaces may be scratched by the
bathroom radio.

You can also use the device inside your shower
cubicle. The splashing water of the shower will not
harm your device in any way.
When hanging the bathroom radio
onto a window handle or a door
handle it may fall down when the
handle is moved.
Powering the Radio On and Adjusting the
Volume
Rotate the volume adjustment knob (2)
clockwise, to power the radio on. This will
adjust the audio volume at the same time. Turn
the volume adjustment knob clockwise to
increase the sound volume, or turn it counter-
clockwise to lower the volume.
Turning the volume adjustment knob counter-
clockwise as far as it goes will power the
device off.

Tuning a Station
Use the band selection switch (1) to choose the
desired frequency band. AM for medium wave
and FM for frequency modulation stations.
Power on the bathroom radio and adjust the
volume.
Turn the tuning dial knob (3) to select the
desired broadcasting frequency.
