Correct use
The WTB2S-2 Teach is a photoelectric sensor for the optical, noncontact
detection of objects.
Starting operation
1 WTB2S-2Fxxx5 and WTB2S-2Exxx5
D:dark-switching,output(Q)switchesowhenanobjectispresent
in the sensing range.
WTB2S-2Pxxx5 and WTB2S-2NPxxx5
L = light-switching. Output (Q) switches on when an object is present
in the sensing range.
WTB2SC-2P11x4 and WL2SC-2P32x4
ANT: complementary outputs Q and
, plus IO-Link (COM2) at pin 4

Check the application conditions such as the scanning distance and
thereectivityoftheobjectsbeingscannedandthebackgroundand
compare it with the characteristic curve in the diagram (x = sensing
distance, y = transition area between the sensing distance set and
safe background suppression). Remission: 6 % = black, 18 % = gray,
90 % = white (referring to standard white as per DIN 5033).
Maintain the movement direction of the object in relation
to the scanner (VR).
Only for connector versions: Plug in the cable socket without current
applied and screw it tight.
Only for versions with connecting cable: The following connections
apply: brn = brown, blu = blue, blk = black, wht = white.
Apply the operating voltage to the proximity sensor.
Operating distance setting
Position object. Align light spot.
Increase the sensing range until the LED indication lights up.
Recommendation: Set the sensing distance with a 15 % safety
supplement of the sensing distance.
Background is not detected: setting is completed.
Backgroundisdetected:backgroundinuencetoostrong.
Check setting and application.

Sensor with IO-Link. Operating distance setting by means of a PC
equipped with the SICK software SOPAS, or by means of a control
systemthatsupportsIO-Link.Youcannddetailsintheaccompany-
ing IO-Link operating instructions and download the relevant software
tools from www.sick.com.
Maintenance
SICK light barriers are maintenance-free.
We recommend doing the following regularly:
- Clean the external lens surfaces.
- Check the screw connections and plug-in connections.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die optoelektronischen Sensoren WTB2S-2 Teach werden zum optischen,
berührungslosen Erfassen von Objekten eingesetzt.
Inbetriebnahme
1 WTB2S-2Fxxx5 und WTB2S-2Exxx5
D: dunkelschaltend, Ausgang (Q) schaltet aus, wenn sich ein Objekt
imTastbereichbendet.
WTB2S-2Pxxx5 und WTB2S-2NPxxx5
L: hellschaltend. Ausgang (Q) schaltet ein, wenn sich ein Objekt im
Tastbereichbendet.
WTB2SC-2P11x4 und WL2SC-2P32x4
ANT: Antivalente Ausgänge Q und
Zusätzlich IO-Link (COM2) auf

Einsatzbedingungen wie Tastweite und Remissionsvermögen des
Tastgutes sowie des Hintergrundes überprüfen und mit der Kennlinie
im Diagramm vergleichen (x = Tastweite, y = Übergangsbereich zwi-
schen eingestellter Tastweite und sicherer Hintergrundausblendung).
Remission: 6 % = schwarz, 18 % = grau, 90 % = weiß (bezogen auf
Standardweiß nach DIN 5033).
Bewegungsrichtung des Objektes relativ zum Taster einhalten (VR).
Nur bei den Steckerversionen:
Leitungsdose spannungsfrei aufstecken und festschrauben.
Nur bei den Versionen mit Anschlussleitung:
Für Anschluss gilt: brn = braun, blu = blau, blk = schwarz, wht = weiß.
Lichttaster an Betriebsspannung legen.
Einstellung des Schaltabstandes
Objekt positionieren. Lichteckausrichten.
SichtbarerroterSendelichteckaufObjekterkennbar.
Pin2 bzw. weiße Leitung >2 s <5 s auf L+(PNP) bzw. M (NPN) legen,
bisgelbeLED-Anzeigewiederaueuchtet.
Sensor ist eingestellt.
Empfehlung: Tastweite mit einem Sicherheitsaufschlag
von 15 % der Tastweite versehen.
