Take the time to read all of the instructions.
• As with any cooking appliance, supervise cooking closely if using the Wikook with children nearby.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or ins-
truction concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Do not put your Wikook in a hot oven.
• When the Wikook is under pressure, take great care when moving it. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the
handles and knobs, and wear oven gloves if necessary.
• Do not use your Wikook for any use other than that for which it is designed.
• Your Wikook cooks under pressure. Incorrect use may result in injuries caused by steam.
• Make sure that the is properly closed before bringing it up to pressure.
• Always position your Wikook so that the steam outlet never points towards you as the steam is very hot
when it leaves this outlet.
• Never force the Wikook open. Make sure the locking pin has gone down (this shows that there is no
longer any internal pressure). See the paragraph entitled: “USE”.
• Never use your Wikook without liquid: this could cause serious damage.
• Use compatible sources of heat.
• Never fill your Wikook above the maximum level shown inside the pan. For food that expands during coo-
king, such as rice, dehydrated vegetables (e.g.: lentils), compotes, etc. do not fill your Wikook more than
half full in relation to the maximum level indicator.
• Never heat any kind of fat until it burns.
• For meat with an outer layer of skin (such as ox tongue) which could swell due to the effects of pressure,
pierce the meat before cooking. At the end of cooking, if the skin appears swollen, wait before taking it
out of the Wikook.
• When cooking food with a thick texture (e.g.: split peas, rhubarb, compotes, etc.), the Wikook should be
shaken slightly before opening to ensure that the food does not spurt out.
• Always check that the valves are not blocked before each use. See the paragraph entitled: “Before
cooking”.
• Do not use your Wikook to fry under pressure using oil.
• Do not touch the safety systems, except for cleaning and maintenance in accordance with the
instructions.
• Only use the appropriate TEFAL spare parts for your model. In particular, use a Wikook pan and lid.
• Do not use your Wikook to store acidic or salty food before and after cooking.
• If you notice anything spraying out while you are opening the Wikook, close it again. Turn off the power
supply and reopen the Wikook gradually while making sure that nothing else sprays out.
• This product has been designed for domestic use only. Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to
comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply.
