Painting the Challenger 2
Challenger 2 tanks generally had NATO
black camouflage applied over their NATO
green base color. Although thosedeployed
in clesert areas of the Middle East were
repainted in Light Sand, inner surfaces of
crew and sight hatches retained thek
original color. Additionally, wearand tear on
frequently-moving parts such as the gun
base cover and fenders sometimes led to
the original color showing through. Inside
corrugated sections ofthe Combat ldentifi-
cauon Panel were white. Painting instruc-
tions tor details are indicated during
assembly and you may rcfer to the packag-
ing illustration as well.
Bemalung des Challenger 2
Die Challenger 2 Panzer hatten generell
Tamflecken aus Nato Schwaz auf der
Nato-Grünen Grundfarbe. Diejenigen, die für
einen Einsaiz im mittleren Osten inderWüste
eingesetzt wurden, wurden in hellerSandfar-
be überlackiert, wobei der lnnenraum und
die Luken der Sichtmittel die Orjginalfarbe
behielten. Zusätzlich kam es vor, dass bei
beweglichen Teilen wie der Abdeckung der
Rohrblende und den Schutzblechen c,ie
originale Farbe begann durchzuscheinen-

bleche waren weiß. Bemalungshinweise für
Detajls sind in der Bauanleitung angegeben
und sie können sich auch nach den Bildern
auf der Verpackung dchten,
Peinture du Challenger 2
Les chars Challenger 2 portaient gönärale-
ment un camouflage Noir OTAN appliqu6
sur leur couleur de base Vert OTAN. Bien
que ceux d6ploy6s dans les zones

outre. sur les piöces mobilestelles le capot

sec. and place on a clean cloth.

lauwarmes Wasser tauchen, dann auf
sauberen Stoff legen,

Abziehbild auf das Modell schieben.
gDas Abziehbild an die richtige Stelle
schieben und dabei mit dem Finger das
Abziehbild naßmachen.
:5lDas Abziehbild leicht mit einem weichdn
Tuch andrücken, bis überschüssiges
Wasser und Luftblasen entfernt sind.
APPLICATION DES DECALCOMANIES
l D6coupez la d6calcomanie de sa feuille.
:iPlongez la d6calcomanie dans de l'eau
tiäde pendant 10 secondes environ et
poser sur un linge propre.
'iRetenez la feuille de protection par le
c6t6 et glissez la d6calcomanie sur le
modöle.6duit.
aPlacez la d6calcomanie ä l'endroit voulu
en la mouillant avec un devos doigts.
:iPressez doucement la decalcomanie
avec un tissu douxjusqu'ä ce que l'eau en

hull based upon the Challenger 1, and a new turret. The Challenger
2 beat off competition from other designs inc uding the M] Abrams

Turm. Der Challenger 2 schlug ander Konzepte wie den M1 Abrams
und den Leopard 2 aus dem Feld und so wurde er im Juni 1991
offiziell bestellt. Seine Wanne und sein Turm bestanden aus relative
einfachen Platten unter NuEung der Chobham Panzerung, und die
