Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance.

You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part

of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and

disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating

and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of

applications speciﬁed. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any

future owner.

Any copying or reproduction, including in the form of extracts, or any repro-

duction of images (even in a modiﬁed state), is permitted only with the written

authorisation of the legal owner.

Intended use

This hair straightener is intended for straightening human hair only. Under no cir-

cumstances is it to be used for wigs or hairpieces made of synthetic material. This

appliance is intended exclusively for private use. Pay heed to all of the informa-

tion in this operating manual, especially the safety instructions. This appliance is

not intended for commercial applications.

The appliance is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use beyond the

scope described. No claims of any kind will be accepted for damage arising

as a result of incorrect use. The risk shall be borne solely by the user.

Safety information

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

► Connect the appliance only to mains power sockets supplying

a mains power voltage of 220 - 240 V

, 50 Hz.

► Remove the plug from the mains power socket in event of

operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance.

► To disconnect the power cable, always pull the plug from the

socket; do not pull the power cable itself.

► Ensure that the power cable does not become wet or damp

during use. Route the cable in such a way that it cannot be

crushed or damaged.

► If the appliance, the power cable or the plug are damaged,

arrange for them to be repaired by Customer Services to

avoid the risk of injury.

► Do not use the appliance outdoors.

► Do not use extension cables – they will make it diﬃcult to

disconnect the appliance quickly in an emergency.

► Never touch the appliance, the power cable or the power

plug with wet hands.

► Do not kink or crush the power cable, and route the cable so

that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.

► Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance, and

protect it from being damaged. Under no circumstances

should the appliance be submersed in liquids or liquids be

allowed to penetrate the housing. Do not expose the appli-

ance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. If any liquid

enters the housing, disconnect the appliance from the mains

power socket immediately and have it repaired by a qualiﬁed

technician.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

► Unplug the appliance immediately after use. The appliance is

completely free of electrical power ONLY when unplugged.

Never use the appliance near water, and keep it away

from sinks, baths and other similar containers. The proximity

of water is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched

oﬀ. Always disconnect the plug from the mains power

socket after use. For additional protection, we recommend

you install a residual current circuit-breaker with an activation

power rating of no more than 30 mA for the power circuit

in the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

► Never leave a switched-on appliance unsupervised.

► Never place the appliance close to sources of heat, and

always protect the power cable from damage.

► Do not operate the appliance if it has been dropped or is

damaged in any way. Have the appliance checked and/or

repaired by qualiﬁed technicians if necessary.

► This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8 years

or more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or

mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge

ONLY if they are being supervised or have been instructed

with regard to the safe use of the appliance and have under-

stood the potential risks.

► Children must not play with the appliance.

► Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by

children unless they are under supervision.

► Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the appliance

yourself. This can lead to risks and also invalidates the warranty.

Defective appliances should be repaired by authorized

specialists only.

► The appliance heats up during use. Always hold the appliance

by its grip when it is hot.

Package contents

The appliance is supplied with the following components as standard:

1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the

carton.

2) Remove all packaging material.

3) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section entitled "Cleaning".

NOTE

► Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage.

►

If any items are missing or damaged as a result of defective packaging

or transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see chapter "Service").

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport. The pack-

aging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease

of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.

Returning the packaging into the material cycle conserves raw materials and

reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging materials that

are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.

NOTE

► If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty period so

that the appliance can be properly packed for returning in the event of a

warranty claim.

Before straightening

■ The hair should be clean, dry and free of styling products. The only exception

to this are special products which facilitate hair straightening.

■ Comb the hair thoroughly before straightening so that there are no knots in it.

Automatic switch-oﬀ

This appliance is ﬁtted with an automatic switch-oﬀ system. After 30 minutes, the

appliance will switch itself oﬀ automatically. After approx. 25 minutes the indicator

lamp  starts to ﬂash, to remind you it is about to switch oﬀ automatically. If you

want to continue using the appliance, switch it oﬀ for a moment and then back

on again.

NOTE

► The automatic switch-oﬀ is a safety function only and is not intended as

a replacement for switching the appliance oﬀ properly using the on/oﬀ

switch !

Operation

Switching on/oﬀ

NOTE

► The hotplates  must be free of dirt. Clean them before use if required

(see section "Cleaning").

The appliance is secured with the catch .

Press the hotplates  together and pull the catch  out.

Now you can open the hair straightener all the way.

1) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.

2) Push the ON/OFF switch  forwards into the “1” (ON) position. The indi-

cator light  starts to ﬂash red and the appliance starts to heat up.

3) Select the temperature suitable for your hair by turning the temperature

control :

– Turn the temperature control towards MIN to reduce the temperature.

– Turn the temperature control towards MAX to increase the temperature.

NOTE

► Select a high temperature for thick and strong hair.

► Select a lower temperature for ﬁne and thin hair.

► If you are unsure, start with a lower temperature and increase the tempera-

ture until you ﬁnd the ideal temperature for you.

4) As soon as the hair straightener has reached the set temperature, the indicator

lamp  will light up permanently red.

5) When you have ﬁnished styling your hair, push the ON/OFF switch  back-

wards into the “0” (OFF) position. The indicator light  goes out.

Pull out the plug and allow the appliance to cool down completely.

Straightening hair

1) Prepare the hair as described in "Before straightening".

2) Start with the lower sections of hair at the back of your head. Work around

the sides to the front:

Take a strand with a width of approximately 2cm and hold its end tightly

between your index and middle ﬁnger of the hand that is not holding the

hair straightener.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

► Ensure that the hotplates  do not touch your scalp. Risk of burns! Never

touch the hotplates  during operation! During operation, touch the

appliance only on the handles. Risk of burns!

3) Clamp the strand near the root between the hotplates  and press them

together.

4) Pull the entire strand through the hotplates  by pulling the hair straightener

quickly downwards from the root to the tips.

5) Proceed in the same way for every strand.

6) Once you have straightened all the strands, switch the appliance oﬀ and pull

the power plug from the mains power socket.

7) Allow the appliance to cool down completely.

Press the hotplates  together and push the catch  back in.

Cleaning

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

► Always remove the plug from the mains power socket before cleaning the

appliance.

► UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you immerse the appliance in

water or other liquids during cleaning!

WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!

► Allow the appliance to cool suﬃciently before cleaning it.

CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!

► Do not use any aggressive cleaning liquids or solvents. They could damage

the surface.

1) Wipe the housing and the hotplates  with a damp cloth.

2) For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. Wipe oﬀ any detergent

residue using a cloth moistened with clean water only.

3) Allow the appliance to dry fully before using it again.

Storage

■ Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface to cool down.

■ You can hang the appliance up by the hanger .

If you do not intend using the appliance for long periods,

■ clean the appliance as described in the section "Cleaning".

■ Store the appliance in a clean and dry location.

This appliance is provided with a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase.

This appliance has been manufactured with care and inspected meticulously

prior to delivery.

Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim,

please contact your Customer Service unit by telephone. This is the only way to

guarantee free return of your goods.

NOTE

► The warranty is valid only for material or manufacturing faults, not for

transport damage, parts subject to wear or damage to fragile parts, e.g.

switches.

This appliance is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes.

The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use

of force and modiﬁcations/repairs which have not been carried out by one of

our authorised Service centres.

Your statutory rights are not restricted by this warranty. The warranty period

is not prolonged by repairs eﬀected under the warranty. This also applies to

replaced and repaired components.

Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported im-

mediately after unpacking, but no later than two days after the date of purchase.

Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to charge.

súčasťou tohto výrobku. Obsahuje dôležité upozornenia týkajúce sa bezpečnosti,

používania alikvidácie. Pred používaním výrobku sa oboznámte sovšetkými

pokynmi na obsluhu abezpečnostnými pokynmi. Výrobok používajte iba podľa

popisu a vuvedených oblastiach použitia. Pri postúpení výrobku tretej osobe

Bezpečnostné pokyny

NEBEZPEČENSTVO ZASIAHNUTIA

ELEKTRICKÝM PRÚDOM

► Prístroj zapojte len do elektrickej zásuvky snapätím 220 -

240 V

, 50 Hz inštalovanej podľa predpisov.

► Pri prevádzkových poruchách apred čistením prístroja vy-

tiahnite zástrčku z elektrickej zásuvky.

► Sieťový kábel vyťahujte zosieťovej zásuvky vždy držaním za

zástrčku, nikdy neťahajte za samotný kábel.

► Dbajte na to, aby sieťový kábel počas prevádzky nenamokol

ani nezvlhol. Veďte ho tak, aby sa nikde nemohol zovrieť

alebo inak poškodiť.

► Ak prístroj, sieťový kábel alebo zástrčka vykazujú známky po-

škodenia, nechajte ich pred opätovným používaním vymeniť

vzákazníckom servise, aby ste zabránili nebezpečenstvu.

► Nepoužívajte prístroj vonku.

► Nepoužívajte žiadny predlžovací kábel, aby ste mali v prí-

pade núdze rýchly prístup k sieťovej zástrčke.

► Nikdy nechytajte prístroj, napájací kábel ani zástrčku kábla

► Neohýbajte ani nestláčajte sieťový kábel, aveďte ho tak,

ani ho používať vonku. Ak by do telesa prístroja predsa len

vnikla kvapalina, ihneď vytiahnite zástrčku prístroja zelek-

trickej zásuvky anechajte prístroj opraviť kvaliﬁkovaným

odborným personálom.

NEBEZPEČENSTVO ZASIAHNUTIA

ELEKTRICKÝM PRÚDOM

► Po použití prístroj ihneď odpojte od elektrickej siete. Len keď

vytiahnete zástrčku zelektrickej zásuvky, je prístroj úplne

odpojený od prúdu.

Nikdy nepoužívajte prístroj v blízkosti vody, hlavne nie

v blízkosti umývadiel, vaní alebo podobných nádob.

Blízkosť vody predstavuje nebezpečenstvo, aj keď je prí-

stroj vypnutý. Preto po každom použití vytiahnite sieťovú

zástrčku. Ako dodatočnú ochranu vkúpeľni sa odporúča

nainštalovať prúdový ochranný istič so spúšťacím prúdom

nie vyšším než 30 mA. Oodbornú radu požiadajte elek-

troinštalatéra.

VÝSTRAHA! NEBEZPEČENSTVO PORANENIA!

► Ak je prístroj zapnutý, nenechávajte ho nikdy bez dozoru.

► Nikdy nepokladajte prístroj do blízkosti zdrojov tepla

achráňte sieťový kábel pred poškodením.

► V prípade, že je prístroj poškodený, alebo spadol na zem,

nesmiete ho ďalej používať. Nechajte prístroj skontrolovať a

podľa potreby opraviť kvaliﬁkovaným personálom.

► Tento prístroj môžu používať deti staršie ako 8 rokov, ako aj

osoby so zníženými fyzickými, senzorickými alebo mentálnymi

schopnosťami, prípadne snedostatočnými skúsenosťami a/

alebo znalosťami, ak sú pod dohľadom alebo boli dostatoč-

ne poučené obezpečnom používaní prístroja apochopili

ztoho vyplývajúce riziká.

► Deti sa nesmú hrať sprístrojom.

► Čistenie aužívateľskú údržbu nesmú vykonávať deti, okrem

toho, ak sú pod dozorom.

► Prístroj sa počas prevádzky zahrieva. V horúcom stave chy-

tajte prístroj iba za držadlo.

Rozsah dodávky

Prístroj sa štandardne dodáva snasledovnými komponentmi:

▯ návod na obsluhu

1) Vyberte zobalu všetky diely prístroja anávod na obsluhu.

2) Odstráňte všetok materiál balenia.

3) Vyčistite všetky diely prístroja podľa opisu v kapitole „Čistenie“.

UPOZORNENIE

► Skontrolujte kompletnosť dodávky aprípadné viditeľné poškodenia.

► Vprípade nekompletnej dodávky alebo poškodení spôsobených nedosta-

točným balením alebo prepravou sa obráťte na poradenskú linku servisu

(pozri kapitolu „Servis“).

Likvidácia balenia

Balenie chráni prístroj pred poškodením počas prepravy. Materiály balenia sú

zvolené podľa aspektov ekologickej atechnickej likvidácie, apreto ich môžete

recyklovať.

Recykláciou balenia sa šetria suroviny aznižujú sa náklady za odpad.

Nepotrebné materiály balenia zlikvidujte podľa miestne platných predpisov.

UPOZORNENIE

► Podľa možnosti odložte originálne balenie počas záručnej doby prístroja,

aby ste mohli prístroj vprípade uplatňovania záruky správne zabaliť.
