A520 Amiga Modulator
Description
The A520 modulator is a precision product
designed to facilitate connection to a standard
PAL television of the Amiga series of computers.
The A520 will allow you to obtain a high quality
picture and sound through most modern
television sets.

The A520 modulator kit consists of the following:

correctly. The program called Music which is
located in the basic demo drawer on your
EXTRAS disc supplied with your computer can
be used for this purpose. If you find that you can
get a picture but no sound, move the switch on
the rear of the A520 from "LH to "H" or vice versa
using a small screwdriver or ballpoint pen.
The video socket on the side of the A520 can be
used to connect your Amiga to a television or
other video devices with direct video input.
Technical Notes
When using your A520 you should be aware of
the following restrictions. The Amiga family of
computers represents state of the art computing
and as such can display pictures and text in very
high resolution.
Most modern televisions do not have the high
bandwith and frequency response required to
display images and text as clearly as a computer
monitor and some degradation of picture quality
is inevitable. When working with text you may

find it convenient to set your Amiga to 60
characters per line using thev Preferences
program supplied with your computer on the
Workbench disc as this will make the characters
more readable.
Since television are built to broad tolerances
Commodore cannot guarantee picture quality on
all televisions. If you believe your picture quality
is poor, you should endeavour to test your A520
with a different television before contacting your
dealer.

Amiga 520 TV-Modulator
Beschreibung
Durch den Einsatz des Commodore Amiga520
TV-Modulators sind Sie in der Lage, die Bild-
und Tonwiedergabe auf ein Fernsehgerät oder
einen Composite-Video-Monitor umzuleiten. Die
Stromversorgung der TV-Modulator-Box erfolgt
über der RGB-Video-Stecker des Amiga 500.
Packungsinhalt
Die folgenden Teile sollten nach dem Auspacken
vorhanden sein:
• Die TV-Modulator-Box
• das Y-Adapter für die Audio-Verbindung
• das Verbindungskabel zum Fernsehgerät

Anschließen der TV-Modulator-Box
Hinweis: Achten Sie beim Herstellen von
Steckverbindungen darauf, daß der Amiga
ausgeschaltet ist.
Stecken Sie die TV-Modulator-Box mit dem
RGB-Stecker auf den RGB-Video-Ausgang des
Amiga 500.
Die beiden Tonkanäle des Amiga werden mit
Hilfe des Y-Adapters zusammengeführt und mit
dem als AUDIO IN bezeichneten Stecker der TV-
Modulator-Box verbunden. Das Bild-Ton-Signal
liegt dann an der mit RF bezeichneten Buchse.
Stecken Sie hier das Verbindungskabel zum
Fernsehgerät auf. Das andere Ende wird auf die
Antennen-Buchse des Fernsehgerätes ge
schoben.
Jetzt müssen Sie noch den Sendebereich 590
bis 598 MHz/Kanal 36 für den TV-Modulator am
Fernsehgerät einstellen. Wie Sie eine solche
Einstellung vornehmen, lesen Sie bitte im
Bedienerhandbuch Ihres Fernsehgerätes nach.

Mit Hilfe des Schalters neben der RF-Buchse
können Sie zwei Frequenzbereiche für das
Tonsignal am TV-Modulator einstellen:
Position Frequenz
L 5,5 MHz (für Deutschland)
H 6 MHz (für England)
Testen Sie Ihre individuelle Arbeitstisch-
Farbeinstellung mit Hilfe des Voreinstellers
(siehe Benutzerhandbuch, Kapitel 5.1.11).
An die mit VIDEO OUT bezeichnete Buchse
können Sie einen Composite-Video-Monitor
anschließen.
